Position Summary
This role is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of machinery and equipment within the manufacturing plant. The role includes performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring that all plant systems are operating efficiently and safely. This position will work closely with the operations and production teams to minimize downtime and improve overall productivity.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Preventive Maintenance:
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on machinery, equipment, and facility systems.
- Inspect equipment for proper functioning and detect potential issues.
- Replace worn parts, lubricate machines, and ensure optimal performance.
Troubleshooting & Repairs:
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic problems with equipment.
- Perform necessary repairs to minimize downtime and ensure continuous operations.
- Use tools and testing equipment to assess equipment malfunctions and restore functionality.
Installation:
- Assist in the installation of new machinery and equipment.
- Ensure correct assembly, calibration, and configuration according to manufacturer specifications.
Equipment Monitoring:
- Monitor equipment performance and adjust as necessary.
- Report any major equipment issues to the Maintenance Supervisor or Plant Manager.
- Maintain detailed records of repairs and equipment performance.
Safety & Compliance:
- Follow all plant safety regulations and ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Ensure equipment operates within company and regulatory safety standards.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Document all maintenance activities, including completed repairs and parts used.
- Keep maintenance logs and submit reports to supervisors on equipment status and repairs.
- Collaborate with other maintenance personnel and plant staff to streamline maintenance tasks.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in industrial or manufacturing maintenance.
- Proficient in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with a good understanding of mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance software and tools.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, noise, and dust.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and overtime when needed.
